When is Charity Week?
Charity Week is happening from 21-27th of October, but you can start planning for it as soon as you like! Just make sure that you always log your activities on your fundraising page once the week begins!
Where does Charity Week take place?
As this is a week where anyone and everyone can get involved, it's happening wherever you are! You choose where you would like to hold your event - your local park, your neighbourhood, your gym, your home… anywhere in the country.
Can I share my participation in Charity Week on social media?
Yes! Please share your news and successes on your favourite social media site by using the hashtag #CharityWeek so we can also share your efforts! You'll be able to see how the other supporters are doing too. You can also visit our Charity Week UK Facebook/Twitter/Instagram page.
How will my money help?
The donations made to you for taking part in Charity Week helps us to Save Lives. As a result, we will be able to fund multiple projects that will change the lives of thousands of children and orphans. You can find out more about what we will be funding and how you can have a say by visiting the causes page.
Fundraising
How much do I have to fundraise?
The fundraising goal for this event is however much you feel you can raise! The more you ask friends and family to support you, the greater your chance of seeing yourself on the leader board! If you feel that you might not be able to reach the goal, please don't worry - we appreciate that you are taking part and helping to raise funds for Charity Week.
When can I raise money until?
You can donate and raise funds for Charity Week till 11:59 PM on the 8th of November.
What is JustGiving and how do I use it?
"JustGiving is an online fundraising platform, which you can use to collect your donations, and you can keep your supporters up to date with your progress with your very own fundraising page. Your fundraising page will be set up automatically when you register for Charity Week.
If you have already registered, you can log in your page and by entering the log in details you supplied when you registered. You can share your page with family and friends to encourage them to support you."
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid adds 25p to every £1 donated, at no extra cost to the donor. It’s a Government scheme that enables charities to claim this ‘extra money’ from tax that people have already paid. To allow us to claim Gift Aid, the donor has to be a UK taxpayer and have paid sufficient Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover the amount to Islamic Relief will reclaim in the tax year. If you are fundraising offline, please make sure you send your sponsorship form to us so we can claim it.
Are there are any fundraising materials?
Yes. We have a resources section with lots of fun resources that you can download to help you in your fundraising! You can also get in touch with your local Islamic Relief fundraiser for more fundraising tools such as buckets and t-shirts.
How do I pay in my money?
"The easiest and most cost-efficient way to collect donations is by asking your supporters to donate online through your own fundraiser page, because the money will come directly to Islamic Relief

Banking for Institutions
This section is applicable to any institution signed up by the Charity Week volunteer team
What is the Banking Deadline?
The banking deadline is the last day you can donate money towards Charity Week. This year's banking deadline is Friday 8th November at 23:59
How can I deposit money that my institution has raised at street or station collections?
You will need to use the deposit book given in your resource packs and take the counted money to a Barclays bank to deposit.
It is important to be done this way as the collections are monitored by the local council and train companies respectively. To ensure we are following the rules, the donations must be counted, put into money bags (which you can get for free at any bank) and deposited with the deposit book into a barclays bank.

How can I deposit money that my institution has raised at our events?
The best way to deposit the money raised is either at your student union or at your local Barclays bank using the deposit book provided in your resource pack. These deposit books already have Islamic Reliefs account details printed so all you have to do is count the donations and put the amount on there along with your details and institution reference.
If you are depositing it at your student union you will need to give them the Islamic Relief bank details shown below:

Some student unions may ask for a letter or email from Islamic Relief to confirm the bank details. To request a letter or email confirming you are taking part in Charity Week at your institution, please contact your participation ambassador or email finance.uk@charityweek.com
